Meet our attorneys
Thomas J. Anton is a second generation native of Bakersfield. After graduating from East Bakersfield High School, he attended the University of Santa Clara, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. Mr. Anton then attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1973.
Upon graduation, Mr. Anton was employed by Belli, Ashe & Choulos in its San Francisco, California office where he began his practice as an associate in 1973 in the business litigation department. In 1977, he returned to Bakersfield where he joined Darling, Maclin & Day, a tax and business law firm, where he was responsible for its business litigation practice. In 1980, Mr. Anton opened his firm. He has enjoyed an active and diverse civil law practice thereafter which includes complex business litigation, the prosecution of and defense of attorneys, architects and other professionals as well as land use and environmental law.
Mr. Anton has been a member of the California State Bar Association since 1973. He is also a member of the Federal and Kern County Bar Associations and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
He is admitted to and/or has practiced before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Illinois, District of Hawaii and all United States District Courts within the State of California. He is also admitted to practice before all State Courts within the State of California.
He is the founder of Cooks From the Valley, a charitable organization which since 2001, has delivered in excess of 185,000, 12. oz. New York steaks to United States military personnel around the world. He is also a member of the Navy League of the United States, the Untied States Naval Institute, United States Department of Defense, Joint Civilian Orientation Conference, the Stockdale Country Club and the California Yacht Club.

Becky M. Brooks is a Bakersfield native with close ties to the community. After Garces High School she received a degree in Economics from U.C. San Diego. While at McGeorge School of Law, she served as an editor of the Law Review, researched for numerous professors and judges, and worked for a tort reform association before graduating with Great Distinction. Her law practice primarily consists of litigation, business law, property law and estate planning.
As an active real estate broker, she has a unique perspective and extensive experience in a wide array of property issues, including sales, leasing, easements, construction and development, premises liability, escrow, lending, contracts and tax-free exchanges. She works with new and experienced property investors in profit evaluation and creating a legal framework to protect their venture. She believes small businesses are the heart of our community and is committed to helping clients who want to control their careers.
Ms. Brooks is licensed to practice in all California State Courts and the Eastern District Federal Bankruptcy Court. An active member of the Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary Club, she serves our community and local patriotic charities. She is also devoted to supporting our veterans, founding Operation Interdependence to give back to our front-line troops and creating the annual Thousand Flags event to honor our active service members, veterans and first responders.

Nathaniel J. Oleson is a recent transplant to the Central Valley grown up raising animals on a small ranch in Southern California. Prior to his career in the law, Mr. Oleson owned and operated a small pool cleaning business in San Diego County.
In 2009, Mr. Oleson earned his Juris Doctorate from Trinity Law School. While in law school, he gained experience in Constitutional Law and appeals as a law clerk for a non-profit public interest foundation. Mr. Oleson also served as an Editor on his school’s Law Review and obtained a Certificate in International Human Rights Law. Mr. Oleson has defended the First Amendment rights of members of the U.S. military and for several years ran a monthly free legal clinic providing legal assistance to members of the community.
Mr. Oleson represented individuals and businesses in civil and business litigation, fraudulent conveyance of land, breach of contract, traffic ticket defense, landlord-tenant, unlawful termination, and estate planning. He also argued an appeal before the 3rd Appellate district and previously practiced criminal defense throughout the Central Valley.
